Team Mail and Guardian have gone public, somewhat earlier than i think they were hoping, with Amatomu. Aimed at being some sort of round up of the SA blogosphere, I think its a really exciting development.
I like the idea of being able to track mentions of keywords / phrases such as “BMW” within a South [...]

Google Reader its embedded player, and some RSS Evangelism
December 12th, 2006 · Comments
I have no idea if this is old or new news. But I was really impressed to find an embedded audio player inserted by Google into a post by Tomorrow Today.
Just so convenient i tell you.
I’ve actually been using Google Reader as my RSS reader after my demo to FeedDemon expired. I was going to [...]
TECH4FRICA 2007: A web and emerging technology conference
November 27th, 2006 · Comments
A post on Dave Duarte (.co.za) points to technologyforafrica.org. They’re gauging interest in a web and technology conference.
From the site:
We’re trying to figure out whether there is demand for a web and technology conference in Southern Africa, and we’d really appreciate your help if you can spare a few minutes.
I’m really behind something like this. [...]

M&G hit the podosphere.

Podosphere? … i don’t know.

Another shot for Youtube glory..

Daily winners usually chart between 20,000-60,000 views; the Wii commercial? It’s been viewed 738,986 times — and counting — making it the most watched video anywhere on YouTube.
I find it quite strange how all you ever hear about in [...]

I just don’t know when i’m going to get the time, so here’s a quick summary of 2 post-worthy items:
1.
Title: Ananzi talks shop.
Abbreviated thoughts: I think they should be focusing on getting their search engine right before they start building shopping portals. I did a search for a used BMW 1 Series and got a [...]

CGM up, MM down

In internet terms, I’m quite late on posting this, although I did see it a while back.
Chris Anderson, author of The Long Tail give us a few interesting stats that really re-inforce the speculation the mainstream media is on the down:
TV: network TV had its lowest ratings week ever in July.
Music: weekly album sales set [...]
when fighting the consumer goes wrong

When is the value gained by trying to protect music copyrights outweighed by the intangible value of a whole lot of consumers hating who you are? (sorry, not the most elegantly put question)
