following the success of the Barcamp held in Cape Town recently, Barcamp Johannesburg has been born. Here’s a bit of a more formal press release that we have written to publicise the event:

What?
BarCamp [www.barcamp.org] is an ad-hoc “un-conference” born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from attendees.

Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join.

When you come, be prepared to share with barcampers.
When you leave, be prepared to share it with the world.

my main focus is more the new media side of things (with a very keen interest in the tech and culture side of things of course!).

i’d like to see some discussion centering around current online business issues for example, the modern online agency, what makes a good one? and maybe some discussion and debate around corporate blogging.
